We use innovative methods, tools and technologies that address personal and corporate needs, as well as learning style diversity.
These methods include:
At AHz we focus on creating an environment where, regardless of how an individual learns, they will be provided with many 'AH' experiences.
We truly believe that anyone can learn -- and we are committed to ensuring that our sessions constitute not just training but learning.
When participants leave our sessions we know that "if change doesn't happen, learning hasn't occurred." And, "if they haven't got it -- we haven't taught it!"
In an AHz learning event, the facilitator is not the 'sage on the stage' but the participants' guide for learning. The highly interactive format encourages higher-order thinking and problem-solving whether that's in the classroom or on-line. This ensures participants are prepared to apply their learning back on the job. The goal is to guarantee that participants LEARN and APPLY what is covered during the session when they get back to the 'real world'.
Our sessions are structured to honour the current challenges and strengths of all learners.
Pre and Post Assessments
We recognize the value of taking into consideration the knowledge and skills that participants bring to each session. We also recognize the value of capturing the extent of learning that occurs in each session. We therefore ask participants to complete a Pre Assessment where they not only answer assessment questions, but also rate their confidence level of their answer. The group average is then calculated to obtain a benchmark for the session. Near the completion of the session, participants complete a Post Assessment which is used to calculate the learning gain of the group. This not only quantifies the amount of learning that occurred in the session, but provides measurable proof of return on investment.
A Post-Session Assessment is also designed and included to measure participants' learning retention. This assessment can be distributed to participants (via mail, email or via our on-line testing tool) 6-8 weeks following a learning session. As well, as part of the Post-Session Assessment, participants are asked to re-rate the course. We have found that very often participants are rating the course even higher than they did at the end of the session, indicating that they are placing a high value on what they learned and their ability to apply their new skills.
Follow-up Action Plans
Follow-up ensures participants are continually supported after training. Participants can be provided with a 30 Day Action Plan consisting of daily reminders, actions and questions to help them apply and integrate their learning following a session.
Participants can choose to receive the program in the form of a workbook or via daily emails. This allows participants to continue their learning journey through action plans and practical application ~ continually reinforcing what they learned. This also provides an opportunity to celebrate their successes.
A Follow-up Action Plan is also a great coaching tool for managers, supervisors and team leads.
